Hello, my name is Hans Dalhaus and I run a construction company called Dalhaus Carpentry Inc. out of Easthampton Massachusetts. For the past 3 years I have had the fortunate opportunity to employ a superior craftsman named Anthony Davis. Anthony is an exceptional individual. Not only is he skilled at his craft he is a pleasure to be around. Clients, such as Irena Smoluchowski, who have had the opportunity to work with him have experienced his joyful demeanor and his infectious optimism. Anthony is from Jamaica where most of his family still resides and due to the devastation by hurricane Melissa his family are in a dire situation and he needs your help. I am adding below Anthony's description of who he is and his families current situation.

" My name is Anthony Davis, I am a hardworking carpenter dedicated to making a difference - not only for my family but also for my community. Recently, as the world has seen, Hurricane Melissa devastated my beloved Jamaica, leaving countless people homeless, hungry, and in despair. Many of my family and friend's homes in Montego Bay were destroyed, and it will take tremendous effort to rebuild and restore our beautiful parish.

While the entire country faces unimaginable hardship, my greatest pain comes from knowing that my four daughters and grand daughter are among those struggling to survive. They are living in deplorable conditions without running water, electricity, or sufficient food. I am far away, unable to reach them, and do not currently have the financial means to provide the support they need.

Although my heart tells me to go home and be with my family, traveling so soon after the hurricane is not possible. The country is simply not in a condition to accommodate visitors right now. With widespread devastation, there is nowhere safe or suitable for me to stay near my children at this time.

My goal is to raise funds to provide them with food, essential supplies, and building materials to help them begin recovering. I hope that, within the next few weeks, conditions will improve enough for me to travel and be there in person to continue supporting them.

Today, I am humbly asking for your help. Any support you can give will go directly toward ensuring my family's safety and helping them rebuild their lives. "

Irena Smoluchowski and myself are asking to please donate to Anthony so he can help his family. Every little bit counts and will hopefully cover his costs to travel to them and help them start to rebuild their community.
