Support Anthony Scrivani's Recovery Journey
Donation protected
The Scrivani’s are the best kind of friends to have, always there to help, encourage, and support, and now they need ours in return. On October 7th, two days before Milton was to hit Florida, Anthony was putting the hurricane shutters up on the second-story windows. In the rain, during the installation of the final shutter, difficulties arose due to the HOA having painted over all the studs, necessitating the chipping away of paint to properly secure the shutter. Unfortunately, Anthony lost his balance and fell. Amy called 911, and Anthony was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center, where he underwent imaging that showed he had a broken scapula, broken femoral head, and several vertebral fractures. He was given anesthesia, and the doctor manually repositioned the cracked femoral head. Anthony was in the hospital from Monday till Saturday due to the incoming hurricane disrupting normal hospital operations. On Tuesday, while preparing for surgery, the surgeon reviewed the CT scan and determined that surgery was unnecessary at that time. He recommended a four-week healing period, followed by additional imaging to assess progress, in order to avoid placing any unnecessary hardware in the body. Anthony was advised to refrain from weight-bearing activities for possibly up to three months.
This week, Anthony has two appointments scheduled with orthopedic and spine specialists to confirm that healing is progressing appropriately.
Amy is now working from home so she can be nearby to assist Anthony with anything he needs; however, the loss of income from Anthony’s job, physical therapy, hospital bills, the unknown of how long he will be out of work for, and the upcoming holidays is causing extra stress and concern for The Scrivani’s. Please donate however much you can to help; any amount helps! Let’s help take some of the weight (no pun intended) off Amy and Anthony’s shoulders!
