We are trying to raise money for Anthony Marcotte for nursing care costs. Twelve years ago, Tony had a heart transplant. Most recently, he has been diagnosed with adult polyglucosan disease, which is a very progressive disease. Currently, there is no cure. He needs constant care as he cannot walk or hold himself up. Since November Tony has been in and out of MGH and rehabilitation units in local nursing homes due to falls, this is the outcome of his most recent fall. The fall prior lead to a fractured shoulder. These falls are attributed to the symptoms of his diagnosis, with no cure or available medication to treat this disease and no matter how much rehab he has this disease will not allow him to recover. Each fall has the potential to kill him but that doesn’t matter in the corporate world because he’s reached the 21st day of “treatment” and the insurance company refuses to cover any additional inpaitent care.
