Support Anthony Kemper's Legacy and Final Wish

In the spring of 2020, Anthony Kemper was diagnosed with melanoma. Not long after, the cancer spread to his brain, and more recently, to his lungs. On July 15th, Anthony passed away peacefully, reuniting with his beloved parents—especially his mother, whom he deeply missed.

Anyone who knew Anthony knew he was truly one of a kind. His love for his children and grandchildren was unmistakable—he proudly shared their accomplishments and sports stories with anyone who would listen. His bond with his sisters grew even stronger after his diagnosis, cherishing every moment spent together. He also shared a special connection with his niece in California, discovering they shared the same sharp wit and sense of humor, which he adored.

To his family, friends, and colleagues, Anthony was everything. He was the go-to person for advice, a sounding board, a source of comic relief (thanks to his famously dark, night-shift humor), a teacher, a mentor, and a devoted caregiver. His impact was immeasurable.

Anthony dedicated 33 years to his work as a physician assistant, driven by a deep passion for medicine and patient care. He believed in educating his patients, not just treating them, and always prioritized their well-being. He was especially fond of pediatrics, often comparing himself to Patch Adams in the way he connected with children. Whether in the clinic or out in the world, he had a gift for making kids feel seen and valued. One memorable moment was during a visit to his grandson at Ole Miss—Anthony wandered off and was later found sitting on a bench, fully engaged in conversation with a little girl he had just met. That was Anthony. He even built a computer for a young patient in need so they could succeed in school.

After his diagnosis, Anthony found peace in photography and nature. He spent countless hours capturing the beauty around him, often waking before dawn to photograph the nature. It became his sanctuary. He also made it a priority to stay connected with friends, cherishing those relationships deeply.

This GoFundMe has been created to help fulfill Anthony’s final wish—to be laid to rest alongside his mother. Unfortunately, this includes unexpected legal expenses, the total of which is still unknown. Any additional funds will be donated to two causes close to Anthony’s heart: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and a melanoma research charity.
Your support means the world to us as we honor Anthony’s memory with the dignity and love he so greatly deserves.
