To anyone that will listen, my name is Anthony Higgs. This is a very difficult thing for me to do but I am in need of help from anyone that would be willing to provide such. For most of my life I have found myself to be a strong, healthy, proud individual. I’ve achieved many things, had a blessed existence up to recent times, traveling and even finding myself lucky enough to be a Division 1 athlete attending the University of Illinois on a basketball scholarship. The lord has blessed me with an amazing family, an incredible fiancé I wouldn’t trade the world for and most recently, a daughter that’s has shown me what true pride and joy are. But with all good things there are going to be dark times and I find myself and my family experiencing such. It was discovered that I have end stage kidney disease. This has place a tremendous burden on my family and myself as I have been hospitalized numerous times in the last year and found myself unable to work due to the side effects of dialysis and managing my illness until I can receive a transplant. Every single day has become a challenge, just trying to do tasks I found to normal prior to the discovery of my condition. Furthermore, this has placed an even greater strain on my ability to provide for my future wife and now 4-month old daughter,as I find myself facing mountains of medical bills and again lacking the ability to return to work. This breaks my heart seeing them struggle when I know they deserve the world. So I ask, any donation helps. Please find it in your heart to help in any way you can. I am fighting with every ounce of my being but I need help and it is required I put my pride aside and ask the masses to give me strength. Once again anything helps.
