Support Anthony and Alexis' IVF Journey

Hello Friends, family, and new friends. Anthony and I are looking for some help in starting our family and hoping you can help. A little backstory first:

Anthony was born with Cystic Fibrosis and was informed early on that there was a 98% chance he could not have children.

Males with Cystic Fibrosis are either born without their van deferens or they are severely damaged and can not function properly, meaning the swimmers can not be released since there are no tubes.

Science and medicine have advanced tremendously since the 90’s and not only has new medicine improved Anthony’s overall health, but they have found a way for people with Cystic Fibrosis to have biological children through IVF.

IVF has many steps. First Anthony will have a surgical procedure to gain access. Then, I, Alexis will have a procedure to retrieve my eggs. Next, the doctors will create an embryo and go through genetic testing(the younger you are, the higher the success rate). And Lastly, I, Alexis will have another procedure to implant the embryo.

Anthony and I have been married for two years. About a year ago we started the beginning steps at Kaiser Fertility Clinic and have had lots of testing, blood work, ultrasounds, etc. to be referred and receive a consultation.

At the consultation, we were informed what to expect and then provided with the sticker price of the entire IVF process. Since our insurance does not cover IVF/infertility, we have to pay $50,000 out of pocket to try and start our family.

Anthony and I have worked extremely hard to save every penny, we even moved back in with our parents to help save quicker, but as time goes on this process is becoming more and more difficult mentally, emotionally, physically, etc.

As we get older, the idea of our only chance at having a child slipping away is heartbreaking. Although this makes us very uncomfortable to ask, we feel as though we have tried everything we can. If you can’t support us financially towards our goal, we ask that you pray for us, and share this post anywhere and everywhere.
