Support Kate Dietz's daughters Amaranta and Anouk
Donation protected
Hello dear community,
Kate passed from this life as dawn rose on Thursday, October 3. In her own words, “She wasn’t afraid. She just wanted to stay here, with you, longer.”
This is a time of extraordinary transition for everyone who knew and loved Kate, and whose lives were impacted by the gift of her presence. No one is more impacted than Kate’s daughters, and Kate’s family, with whom she shared a household. Kate’s sister Grace, her mother Liz, and Liz’s partner Rick are grappling with their own grief and celebration of Kate’s life while also nurturing and supporting Anouk and Amaranta. These are life-long commitments for Grace, Liz, and Rick, commitments of love and memory and time, but also of school supplies and step dance lessons and all of the practicalities of their young lives.
The generosity of this community upon the news of her diagnosis made so much possible in Kate’s final months: long dreamed-of trips for Kate to introduce Anouk and Amaranta to formative, beloved people and places; confidence in accessing all the small things that made her treatment more tolerable; a family photo shoot to ensure Amaranta and Anouk could look back on beautiful images capturing their mother’s deep love for them.
Donations to this fund going forward will be used in two ways: to help with funeral expenses, and to establish a trust for ongoing support of Amaranta and Anouk. Thank you, deeply, for your generosity to Kate, both your generosity of love and of any material support you can offer.
