Support Ann's Recovery from a Bad Fall

Donation protected
Hello everyone. Mitchell and I are writing this on behalf of my mom, Ann, and are asking for any help anyone can give.

Mom had a bad fall on her basement steps Thursday, April 3rd. She was taken to Munson Hospital by ambulance where we learned both her tibia and fibula bones in her left leg are broken just slightly above the ankle. The bones were described by the doctors as "shattered", and she will need plates, screws and pins to reconstruct things.

Many of you know that mom is Type 1 diabetic. Due to that, her recovery time and the amount of time she cannot put weight on her leg will be much longer than normal. The doctors said at minimum, if everything goes well, it will be 10 weeks before she can start to put weight on it. There's a risk of the bone or wound not healing, also due to the diabetes, which could prolong that further.

Surgery is scheduled for Monday, April 7th in the afternoon. Due to the surgery being late in the day, she will be staying overnight in the hospital and will hopefully come home on Tuesday. She will be staying with her sister, Marge, until she is strong enough to go home.

Mom will be off work for a good 2.5 - 3 months without pay. Our goal is to raise $4,000. Any money raised will go directly towards paying her rent, utilities, and medical expenses until she can get back to work. If you could spare $20 to help my mom on her road to recovery it would mean so much to her and be greatly appreciated.
