Greetings, I'm Alan Thacker, husband of Ann. I've started this page because the cost of care for Ann's cancer is skyrocketing. Insurance covers most of it, but as time goes by, more testing, scans, and drugs are starting to become out of reach. Her type of cancer is Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer that is incurable. It's a very painful cancer that affects your skeleton. Walking and moving is painful due to ulcers on the bones. It can be manageable and go into remission. We are in Stage 4 at present. We seem to be adding more doctors as we go on with treatment: Cardiologist, Neurologist, Pain Management, and now physical therapy. And to top things off, I'm unemployed. I do what I can to make Ann's life comfortable. I do all the physical activities of maintaining a home and other items. Granted, it's not easy. I never thought I'd have to experience this in my life, but I'm here for her. I just can't take the pain away so we can enjoy life together. Neither of us can retire. She still works. It's very demanding on her. I'm proud of how she pushes forward. So I'm asking for help. So we can keep ahead of the medical bills and Ann can live comfortably.
Too add to this Ann is now unable to work due to fracturing her ankle in two places. This requires surgery and to add to it a loss of income while healing. Plus the cancer slows the healing process. Any help will be appreciated
