Support Ann's Battle Against Esophageal Cancer
Donation protected
In July 2024, Ann was diagnosed with Stage III Signet ring cell adenocarcinoma of the esophagus - "Signet ring cell carcinoma (SRCC) of the esophagus is a rare and aggressive type of adenocarcinoma" [cancer that forms in the glandular tissue]. The rapid growth and spread of these cells formed a large tumor located partially in her stomach, and partially in her esophagus - and has also spread to several lymph nodes. According to The National Library of Medicine (https://www.nlm.nih.gov/) there is a "5-year survival rate of 20% to 30%"
- Ann started chemotherapy and radiation late August; and her husband, Dave, quit his job to be her full time caregiver as she has chemo bi-weekly, and radiation every weekday.
- This week (of Sept. 23) Ann will be visiting again with Johns Hopkins to discuss several surgery options in possibly removing the tumor.
- Many factors are involved prior to this decision and there will be updates as new information is given.
First and foremost, we are asking for prayers.
God, our Great Physician - respond to our cries, Lord. In Jesus name, God we ask for healing upon Ann's earthly body. God, we know you can. Our Heavenly Father, help Ann and Dave to 'trust in you Lord, and seek new strength through you. Would they run and not grow weary, would they walk and not grow faint.' (Is. 40:31) You are able, you are faithful, and you are our hope, Lord. Thank you for walking beside Ann through this season.
If you are able to financially bless Ann and Dave, we can not thank you enough. Your financial blessings will go towards several things such as Ann's medical bills, upcoming home modifications (chair lift, lower level bedroom etc.) and specific food tailored to Ann's diagnosis and possible upcoming surgery.
Thank you for your prayers, love and support, and financial blessings.
