Support Annika's YWAM DTS Fund!

Hi, I'm Annika Thomas, and in October 2025, I will be going to Vigo, Spain, to do a Discipleship Training School (DTS) with Youth with a Mission (YWAM). YWAM is one of the largest global mission organizations in the world.

What will my DTS entail?

The DTS is a 5-month program during which I will learn about God and deepen my faith, understanding, and relationship with Him, and then go out into the world to spread His love and joy. The focus of my DTS is "Anti-Human Trafficking” and will involve:

- Lecture Phase (3 months in Vigo, Spain): Studying the Bible, building a stronger and deeper relationship with God, learning how to minister to others, and learning how to help women out of human trafficking situations.

- Outreach Phase (2 months in Thailand): We will be traveling to Thailand, where Human Trafficking is a big issue. There, we will use what we have learned in the previous months to help women. We will build friendships with them, tell them about God, and help them out of difficult situations.

Why do I want to go?

When I decided to do a gap year, I wanted to do something that would help me build a stronger foundation in God before I went to college. But as I looked up different things that I could potentially do, I realized that I also wanted to help people and make a difference in their lives.

I looked up courses and schools that would give me both a strong foundation in God and a way to help others. This is how I found YWAM. They had many different schools all over the world. Eventually, I ended up choosing to go to Vigo, Spain, because this DTS focuses on learning how to help women get out of difficult situations. This is where I feel God calling me.

How can you help?

With the help and generosity of friends and family, I have already raised $4300 CAD. But I still have $8700 more to go. With your help, I will be able to reach this goal. Even if you are only able to give small amounts like $10 or less, that’s okay because every little bit helps. I am trusting that God will provide the full amount I need.

There are two main ways I am asking for your help:

1. Prayer: Please pray that I would be able to raise all of the funds I need. Pray for my travel, as I will be traveling by myself, and I can be a very anxious traveler. Pray for me as I experience new and different things, and that my time there will be impactful. Pray that God will keep the whole team safe, as what we will be doing can be dangerous.

2. Financial Support: Please help me raise funds by donating any amount that you are able to. This would enable me to go and learn how to help women in difficult and dangerous situations and tell them about God’s love.
