My name is Jennifer and I represent a group of friends and colleagues who have been deeply impacted by the recent cancer diagnosis of our cherished friend, Annette. Shockingly, in April, as Annette experienced incredible pain, she was hospitalized, in sepsis, due to a perforation in her colon spreading infection throughout her lower abdomen. The perforation possibly stemmed from the mass which they diagnosed as colorectal cancer that had metastasized to her liver. She has recently started an aggressive chemotherapy treatment in hopes of shrinking the tumors enough to eventually have them surgically removed.
Annette is a wife, daughter, sister, mother of 3 beautiful children, a colleague, and friend to many. Recently relocating to Sarasota with her retired husband and dad, Florida was her retirement dream that was soon within reach. Away from her kids in Chicago and only enjoying her new home and the sunshine for about six months, Annette is now facing the battle of a lifetime. Relying on the strength and positive support of her family and friends, she will need to put her life on pause while she undergoes 72 hours of chemo every other week for three months, at which time her doctors will then determine the next course of action.
Annette has rapidly lost a considerable amount of weight, both due to the cancer and incredible stress and shock of her diagnosis, and is expected to lose more while undergoing treatments.
We are humbly asking for your support — financially and by spreading the word. Prayers and positive thoughts are also deeply appreciated.
We are hopeful the funds raised may help Annette with:
- Living expenses while she pauses work to heal
- Any medical bills and medications not fully covered by insurance
- Supplemental therapies for strength, nutrition, and mental well-being
- Nutritional meal delivery to provide her the proper nutrition and protein she needs
- Help with travel expenses for her kids to be with her as often as she needs
- Space to rest without worrying about how to keep going
Annette is tough; she has an incredible spirit of resilience and through it all is remaining positive and hopeful. Please help us ensure Annette feels our love and support during this difficult time.
Thank you for any contributions you can make.
