Support Annette Yost's Kidney Transplant Journey

Donation protected
Hi all, I am putting together a Go Fund Me for my little sister Annette Yost. In 2020 she was diagnosed with Stage 3 kidney disease due to having high blood pressure during a routine procedure. Unfortunately even with diet changes, the damage was already done.

For years she has kept quiet not wanting to worry family and friends but the time has come that she needs help. In June of 2024, Annette started her transplant journey. In December of 2024 she had a catheter inserted to prepare for starting peritoneal dialysis in January of 2025. Given the delicate nature of where the catheter was placed and where the dialysis machine had to be connected, she had to switch her job from being a sterile processing assistant a job which she enjoyed immensely to doing a desk job as a patient service representative at Karmomos.

Since January, Annette has had to undergo dialysis every day, a painstaking process ensuring that everything is timed just right. Sometimes it was a challenge because of thunderstorms, or if the solution had gotten too hot, she had to delay her treatment so she didn’t suffer internal burns.

Although she started her journey last June, it was put on hold until last week when she was put on the registry. Today, July 20th she received the call that a kidney was available due to someone being a kidney donor upon their death. With hours to spare, she is on her way to the Henry Ford Hospital to undergo her kidney transplant. Praying for a successful surgery and recovery, but it will take weeks of recovery time, meaning lost wages and mounting medical bills. I am imploring anyone if they feel moved to donate, please do. She has a lot of life left to live for. Her loving husband Jason, and her 10 year old son Joshua who is the apple of her eye is her world. We appreciate anything that you feel in your hearts to give. Prayers are always appreciated and we thank you and thank God for helping offset any costs.

UPDATE!

As of 6:30 EST, she went into surgery where it was supposed to last 3-4 hours. According to her husband, Annette’s body quickly accepted the kidney and she immediately started producing urine. She is now expected to be in recovery for at least 1-2 hours. Praise Jesus!!
