As many of you know, in November 2025, Mum was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer called Glioblastoma. It’s something no family ever expects to face, and since her diagnosis, life has changed overnight for all of us.

She's already been through so much - undergoing major brain surgery, followed by radiotherapy, and she is currently receiving monthly chemotherapy. Despite everything, she continues to show incredible strength, courage, and determination every single day.

Just when we felt we had exhausted all available options, we were given a glimmer of hope.

She has now started a specialised treatment called Oncothermia under the care of Dr Paul Mulholland in London. This is an innovative therapy that works alongside her existing treatment, using targeted radio frequency energy to attack cancer cells more precisely. Dr Mulholland is a Research Consultant based in London, he started using Oncothermia after seeing promising results in Europe increasing patients' life expectancy.

Encouragingly, after just three months of Oncothermia Treatment, there has already been a noticeable improvement in the size of her tumour on her most recent scan. We have been told that this level of progress would not have been expected with standard treatment alone, which gives us real hope moving forward.

However, this treatment is not available through the NHS and comes at a significant cost of £1000 per treatment, three per month, with a years treatment costing £36,000.

We are raising funds to help continue this treatment for as long as possible - to give our mum the best chance, more time, and more precious moments as 'Granny Annie'.
