In June 2020, my mother Anne Zak was given the devastating news that she had breast cancer. By June of 2023, her cancer had turned into Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer that spread to her lymphatic system, pelvis, and spine. Most recently, as of January 2026, her cancer has now spread into her ribs and additional tumors have been found in her spine, which has caused her immense pain. She has recently been referred to palliative care, which will also increase her expenses while they are trying to manage her pain and offer alternative treatments in conjunction with her new treatment plan at Mayo.

She is the strongest, most positive, loving person who is now needing help with medical expenses that are becoming too much. She is still working in order to pay for herself and medical expenses, but her recent spread has impacted her ability to work, be independent, enjoy being present as a grandmother, and care for herself, which has been very tough.

My mother is a very private and independent woman who has had to take care of herself as a single woman with two children most of her life. She is the most important person in my life and my best friend, and watching her in so much pain while struggling financially breaks my heart. My mom would never ask for help and would normally give the shirt off her back to anyone in need, but at this time I am asking for help and prayers for a miracle!
