Support Anne White Hat's Back Surgery & Recovery

On behalf of the community of friends and family supporting Anne White Hat through her upcoming surgery, welcome and thank you for taking the time to learn how you can join the effort to ease her financial burden.

Anne has back surgery scheduled for November 18th to address a number of compression fractures of the lower lumbar of her spine. She’s been dealing with the pain from these fractures since June. It became debilitating in August and further exacerbated in October. She was able to advocate for herself and finally had an MRI of her spine in late October, revealing 4 compression fractures.

She’s been unable to work and needs our help to meet her insurance deductible and other costs associated with her upcoming surgery.

For those of you who don't know Anne, she is an experienced herbalist and the proprietor of Miss Anne's Maypop Herb Shop in the Bywater neighborhood of Bvlbancha, aka New Orleans. She is also a clinical herbal student at the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism. Miss Anne's shop provides an essential "community-determined medicine" and healthcare resource in New Orleans and the greater Southern Louisiana region. She is the mother of three amazing children, a Water Protector and a member of the Aske Tiospaye (clan) of the Sicangu Lakota Oyate.
