Support Anne Marie's Prosthetic Repair Fund

I have created this GOFUNDME page for one of my Dearest Friends that really could use your help. Anne Maries prosthetic is currently non-functional and needs to repaired. The repair of her prosthetic is $6,000 and her insurance has denied the claim, if you can imagine. She has even reached out to Angus King, with no success. All she wants is to be able to somewhat live a normal life again. Anne Marie is one of the sweetest, most generous loving people I know. These past few years have been nothing short of challenging for her and she truly deserves a break.

I know this is a high goal to reach, but I have faith it can be done with your help. Any donation helps and is truly appreciated. Anne Marie shares her story below……

My name is Anne-Marie and I am looking for support to repair my prosthetic. Let me explain, In June of 2021 I found out I had an aggressive form of cancer called spindle cell sarcoma which resulted in my right leg being amputated above the knee. My recovery has been hampered by a series of ill fitting, poorly made prosthetics made by a particular clinic. Fast forward to the future…. I found an excellent prosthetist who is working ardently to build a new socket for me which will help me ambulate .

Here is the problem…. My “knee” suddenly broke, and when it was sent in for repair I was told it got wet and therefore insurance will not pay the $6,000 it costs to repair it. Let me assure you I don’t have the mobility to go dance in the rain or run through ocean waves.

For those of you who are not familiar on what the prosthesis consists of, it’s a socket and the purpose is to allow for comfortable movement and stability. I also consists of the knee and its purpose is to stabilize the leg and allow for bending and swinging.

$6,000 is far beyond my ability to pay as I receive a monthly social security check and therefore are turning to you for help.
