Help Anne Knowles Snell in Her Battle with Alzheimer’s – Support Her and Keith

Our beloved sister, Anne Knowles Snell, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2016, and her journey since then has been both heartbreaking and inspiring. As the disease progresses, Anne’s care needs have grown beyond what her loving husband, Keith, can provide on his own.

Anne has led an extraordinary life, full of service, passion, and creativity. In her college years, she volunteered with VISTA in New Mexico, always ready to help those in need. Afterward, she attended Union Seminary in New York City, continuing her path of discovery and service. Anne’s adventurous spirit then took her to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, where she cared for animals, from baby bears and snow leopards to emus and tigers. Her love for life and all living creatures was unmatched.

It was during a trip to California that Anne met Keith, the love of her life. She became a dedicated high school English teacher, helping immigrant students through her work in the ESL program, all while pursuing her passion for poetry and storytelling. Anne’s writing became a profound part of her life, particularly after she retired from teaching.

When Anne received her Alzheimer’s diagnosis, she faced it with the same courage and grace that she had shown throughout her life—just as our mother did when she battled the same disease. Anne was determined to confront Alzheimer’s with dignity, knowing the challenges that lay ahead. But as the disease has progressed, the emotional and physical toll has grown.

Keith has been by her side every step of the way, but the care Anne now needs is more than any one person can manage. We are asking for your support to help Keith and Anne through this difficult time. Donations will go directly toward providing Anne with the specialized caregivers, medical assistance, and household help she now requires. Your contributions will also help with moving costs as they transition to a home better suited to meet Anne’s growing needs.

Alzheimer’s is an unforgiving disease, but through it all, Anne continues to show her remarkable spirit. We are turning to friends, family, and compassionate individuals to help us ensure Anne can continue to be cared for with the love and dignity she deserves.

No donation is too small, and every contribution will make a difference. Whether through a financial gift or by sharing this campaign, your support means the world to us as we help Keith and Anne navigate this difficult journey.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for standing by Anne during this challenging time.
