As many of you know, my mom’s mare, Anna, has been going through a very difficult and unexpected medical journey. What started as a heavy cough quickly turned into something much more serious. After initial tests came back clear, she was taken to K-State’s veterinary hospital, where they discovered a tumor in her airway.
During her first surgery, doctors attempted to remove the tumor, but complications arose when a piece became lodged in her airway, causing her to stop breathing. This led to an emergency tracheotomy. Since then, Anna has made multiple trips back for treatment, but the tumor has not fully resolved and she continues to struggle with breathing.
Tomorrow, March 25, she will undergo a second surgery to place a permanent tracheotomy in hopes of improving her quality of life.
Anyone who knows Ginger knows she is the first to show up and help others, and the last person to ever ask for help herself. With the unexpected and overwhelming cost of these surgeries, I’ve created this GoFundMe to help ease some of the financial burden, so she doesn’t have to sell the horse show items she has worked so hard for over the years.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply keep Anne in your thoughts, it would mean so much to our family. Thank you for your love and support during this time
