Support Anastasia's Stroke Recovery Journey

On Friday October 11, Anna experienced a stroke. She was hospitalized for four days. As a young and healthy woman with no risk factors, this was a shock to everyone, including her healthcare providers.

Although she doesn’t have noticeable ongoing physical deficits (praise God), she does have a long road of testing, healing, and physical + mental recovery ahead of her. The cognitive and mental effects of an event like this are impossible to predict or diagnose this early on.

A medical event this serious requires close, ongoing consultation with a neurology team. It also includes follow up care with a handful of other providers as her team collaborates to determine a cause of the stroke. It is crucial for her to regularly be evaluated and managed to avoid this happening again.

Unfortunately, Anna and Josh's health insurance plan does not cover the hospital stay and any of her ongoing care, medications, or outpatient appointments. This includes neurology, therapy, and any other care related to the stroke. She is currently off work while they are working to help her regain her strength and identify a cause.

As Anna and Josh navigate the adjustments that come along with an event like this, they could use any support people are willing to offer. Prayers for Anna, Josh, and Birdie (3yo) are so appreciated. Many are asking how they can help and we wanted to create a way for those near and far to support them in a tangible way. Their biggest need is financial support to help cover the costs of the incredibly high medical bills that they will be facing in addition to filling the financial gaps that her time off work will create.
