On the morning of November 20, 2025, at around 5 AM, my family and I were awoken by the sound of smoke detectors. Our house was ablaze. In the chaos of the mess, once I realized the situation, I grabbed my phone and climbed out the window. I was able to see my father, but not my mother or my younger sister. My father ran back inside with our neighbor and was able to locate my mother. I was able to call 911, and the fire department responded quickly. The fire department then was able to put out the fire and pull out my sister. Unfortunately, my sister was not breathing. Her heart had stopped, and the EMS team began CPR. After four minutes of CPR, they luckily were able to restart her heart. Then my family was sent to the emergency rooms. My father was taken to Methodist in Dallas, while my mother and my sister were taken to Parkland. I myself went to Parkland to be with my mother and my sister.
Most of our belongings have been lost in the fire. But the fear of losing my family is greater. Both of my parents are recovering fairly decently per the doctors, but my younger sister Annalyn suffered from a seizure and was transported to Children’s medical to be seen by a pediatric neurologist, as of today she has not woken up.
