Here’s a brief overview of Annabelle’s story:

In early December, Annabelle began experiencing double vision in her left eye. Initially, her pediatrician suspected an internal stye. However, as her symptoms worsened, Chris brought Annabelle to an ophthalmologist. While her eyes were found to be healthy, the doctor suspected an issue behind her left eye.

Maria quickly took Annabelle to the Westchester Medical Center ER, where imaging revealed a golf-ball-sized tumor behind her left eye. Things moved swiftly from there. Annabelle was admitted to the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center, where she underwent extensive tests, including bloodwork, MRIs, CT scans, and a PET scan.

On December 11, 2024, Annabelle underwent surgery to remove most of the tumor. She was diagnosed with orbital rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. You can learn more about this condition here: https://www.mskcc.org/pediatrics/cancer-care/types/rhabdomyosarcoma

Please know that any amount is appreciated and will be an immense help and encouragement to the Herrmanns. Even in this first month, the parking and tolls alone are approaching $1,000.00 and we know that Annabelle's Halo wig will be $500.00 There are a lot of unknowns at this time, and the hope is that insurance will provide the coverage they need, but even with that the expenses will be extensive.

While this has been an incredibly challenging time for the Herrmanns, your prayers, love, and support provide immeasurable strength.
