Support Anna Strelitzer and Family

Hello, we are Chris Wallat and Becky Schupmann. We are fundraising to help our family Anna and Tristan Strelitzer and their two boys ages 5 and 9 in their time of need following a serious motor vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday, September 30th. Anna, Tristan and their two boys Jonas and Milo were returning from home after a full day of swimming lessons, soccer and attending a friends' house warming party. Tragically they did not make it home as they were struck by another vehicle in a car crash involving three vehicles. Miraculously the boys in the backseat were physically unharmed and witnesses quickly removed the boys to safety. Sadly, both Anna and Tristan were injured and transported by ambulance to the hospital for their injuries. Tristan sustained a mild concussion, a large laceration on his head and whiplash and was discharged the day after the accident from the hospital. Anna, unfortunately, sustained life threatening injuries including a traumatic brain injury, chest, facial and neck fractures and multiple lacerations and was transported to the Neuro ICU at Froedtert Hospital where she remains in serious condition. Anna underwent an emergency craniotomy to relieve the pressure on her brain and was intubated and placed on a ventilator. Five days after the accident she is beginning to move her extremities and follow commands intermittently. She remains intubated and is initiating breathing assisted by the ventilator and receives nutrition via a nasogastric tube. We know that Anna is strong, determined and surrounded by so much love and support from family and friends but we anticipate that there may be many challenges ahead for her and her family.

The road to recovery will not be easy. While Anna and her family currently have insurance, it will not begin to cover all the costs and medical bills that will come. The extent of Anna's care and needs are unknown at this time; however, since Anna has been the primary wage earner and carries the insurance for the family and since Tristan is also unable to work at this time due to his injuries as well as having to care for Anna and the boys, the financial burdens of daily life and her medical care may become overwhelming. We are asking for, and are truly grateful for any help that you can provide through your financial generosity and prayers for this sweet, young family who have had their lives turned upside down.
