Help Support Anna Blount’s Medical & Recovery Journey

If you know Anna Blount, you already know the kind of person she is. For almost two decades, she has poured every bit of herself into the kids and families of Walton County. She built Team Up Mentoring from the ground up, and she has been a calm, steady presence for so many people in their hardest moments. She is also one of my closest friends.

Right now, Anna is walking through a very difficult and uncertain season — and she needs her community around her.

After weeks of high fevers, weakness, and worsening symptoms, Anna was admitted to the hospital for an extended stay. She developed a severe kidney infection that led to sepsis, and her medical team has been working nonstop to stabilize her and run the tests she needs.

What they’ve found so far is deeply concerning. There is a strong possibility that she is facing ovarian cancer. We are praying for a miracle, and it will take time before we know for certain. In the meantime, she is preparing for a major surgery that will hopefully take place before the end of the year.

Because of a gap in her insurance coverage, Anna does not have health insurance until January 1. This means every single part of this journey — her hospitalization, imaging, specialists, tests, and upcoming surgery — is completely out-of-pocket. Even with negotiated rates, she has already accumulated significant medical bills, and the costs ahead will easily reach tens of thousands of dollars.

Why We’re Coming Together

Anna has always lived her life with a deep sense of calling. Her personal faith has shaped her work, her leadership, and the way she loves people. It has inspired my own faith journey and the journeys of so many others. She has stepped into incredibly difficult work with very little at times, trusting that God would make a way — and because of that trust, countless children and families in Walton County have been seen, supported, and lifted up.

Walton County is special. We show up for people. And Anna has shown up for all of us — through Team Up, through friendship, through her faith, and simply through the way she carries herself with compassion and courage.

This is our moment to show up for her.
