Anna, a devoted wife, mom, and longtime advocate for children in foster care, is now facing terminal cancer. With treatment focused on comfort and time with her husband, Bill, and their two young children, the family is losing Anna’s income while facing significant medical and living expenses. We’re gathering around them to help carry the load and surround them with love and support in this season.
Anna has spent her entire adult life caring for others. For more than 20 years, she has faithfully served children and youth in foster care through her work at Olive Crest, a Christian organization, walking alongside families in some of their hardest moments. She is compassionate, steady, and deeply committed — the person who quietly shows up when someone is in need. Now, Anna and her family are the ones who need support.
Last year, Anna underwent surgery for tongue cancer. After a short period of hope, follow-up biopsies in January revealed that the cancer has aggressively returned and spread into her throat, jaw, and airway. Because of where the tumors are located, surgery is no longer possible. Anna now has a permanent tracheostomy to help her breathe and is receiving palliative radiation and immunotherapy to manage pain and support her quality of life. Speaking is very difficult, and Anna is no longer able to work. When her medical leave ends, the family will lose her income while still facing significant medical and living expenses. Our hope is to lift as much of that burden as possible so Anna and Bill can focus on what truly matters: being present with their children and experiencing care, dignity, and support.
Anna and Bill are loving parents to two wonderful children: Thora (9) is bright, joyful, and always ready to celebrate any occasion. She loves sports and time with friends and brings light wherever she goes. Ben (5) is imaginative, energetic, and full of curiosity. He loves dinosaurs, airplanes, cars, and Paw Patrol — and he keeps everyone laughing.
Anna’s deepest prayer — shared by Bill — is that their children feel safe, supported, and surrounded by love now and in the future. Anna and Bill are deeply grateful for the incredible support surrounding them. Their parents have stepped in without hesitation — helping with school pick-ups and drop-offs, caring for the kids during hospital stays, and providing countless meals. Anna is also deeply thankful for the compassion and support of her employer, Olive Crest, who has walked alongside her and her family with care and generosity throughout this journey. Their love and support have been a true gift during this overwhelming time.
Funds raised will go toward palliative and comfort-focused care, out-of-pocket medical expenses, therapy and grief support for the children, everyday living costs, and replacing the income Anna can no longer earn. If you feel led to give, no amount is too small. And if you are unable to give financially, your prayers and the simple act of sharing this page are deeply appreciated. Thank you for surrounding Anna, Bill, and their children with love, stability, and hope during this incredibly painful season. Your generosity is a tangible reminder of God’s care — and it truly makes a difference. Your gift helps give this family something priceless: peace of mind, stability, and the space to simply be together. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for loving Anna, Bill, and their children in such a real and practical way.
