I never imagined that surviving abuse would one day lead me to build a platform dedicated to helping other survivors find their voices again.
My name is Anna Her, and I am a domestic abuse survivor.
This summer, I have the incredible opportunity to compete in the National American Miss Minnesota Pageant in the Miss division. This experience means so much to me, not just as a personal goal, but as a platform to advocate for something deeply important to me.
As a survivor of abuse, I created Unbroken Voices, a project dedicated to helping survivors rebuild their confidence, rediscover their identity, and find strength in their voices again after abuse. While many organizations focus on helping survivors leave abusive situations, which is incredibly important, fewer focus on what comes after.
What I’ve learned through my own journey is that healing, rebuilding trust, and learning how to feel like yourself again are some of the hardest parts of the journey. Through Unbroken Voices, I am working to create workshops and peer support circles where survivors can connect, share their stories, and support one another in a safe and empowering space.
I am raising $5,000 to help cover the costs of participating in the pageant, including my sponsor fee, travel, and pageant attire. Most importantly, these funds will also help support the growth of Unbroken Voices by helping me host workshops, provide resources, and create safe spaces for survivors to heal and rebuild their confidence.
Participating in this pageant allows me to use my voice and bring more awareness to survivor healing and empowerment. Your support will not only help me compete, but it will also directly contribute to the work I am doing through Unbroken Voices.
