If you're reading this then you probably know Anjlee and know she is the funniest person everyone knows, and incredibly sharp. If you don't know her and are curious: as twins, we’ve always been mirrors of each other—my nickname growing up was "princess" and hers was "Sheru", or Lion/Lioness in Hindi.

Our whole lives, Anjlee has been a quick-witted, spitfire. She’s always been curious, confident, and a fighter to her core. 2 weeks ago, what seemed like a bad case of pneumonia turned out to be something much more serious. After a week in the hospital, two biopsies, emergency surgery to drain fluid from her heart, a port placement, and countless scans and tests, Anjlee was finally allowed to go home.

Now, she’s working with top oncologists at Memorial Sloan Kettering, facing a possible diagnosis of grey zone lymphoma—essentially two types of cancer in one. Her treatment will be intense: extra chemotherapy, a five-day infusion instead of one, possible radiation, and more uncertain variables. She’ll need blood tests twice a week, more scans, and likely more procedures.

Through it all, Anjlee remains the epitome of strength, independence, and love. She is still caring for everyone around her and is the most selfless person I know. As the daughter of a single-mom immigrant, she’s overcome every obstacle with grace and determination. Cancer picked a fight with the wrong girl!

This is just another challenge for her, but we know we’re not alone. Anjlee has spent her life building a beautiful community, and we’re so grateful for the love and support that surrounds us.
