For Aniyah and Cameron

Aniyah Smith is a very close friend of Julie’s, and for the past couple of years they have done life and served closely together through their church. Aniyah helps lead the kids ministry, and her husband, Cameron, serves faithfully on the worship team. They are the kind of people who are always showing up for others with love, support, and intention. Right now, this sweet couple is facing an overwhelming medical crisis. On August 20, Aniyah began experiencing weakness and pain on the left side of her body, and walking and standing became more and more difficult. By August 23, the pain had become unbearable and she had lost even more function, leading to her admission to Atrium in Charlotte.

Aniyah has now been in the hospital for over a week while doctors run extensive testing to understand what is happening. At this point, they are looking into the possibility of multiple strokes or MS, and she has been working closely with physical therapy to regain strength and mobility. The next step will likely be a transfer to a rehabilitation facility in Charlotte for continued therapy and care. Throughout all of this, Cameron has remained faithfully by her side. Even in the middle of so much uncertainty, Aniyah is staying positive and holding strong to her faith during this difficult time. Aniyah, who works hard grooming dogs and truly loves her job and clients, is heartbroken that she is unable to work right now. The funds raised will help with medical expenses and daily living costs as they walk through this uncertain season. If you feel led, please come alongside Aniyah and Cameron to show them the love of Jesus in a tangible way. They are not people who ask for help and are always thinking of others. Now is our chance to think of them, pray for them, and support them in their time of need.
