My name is Deirdre, and I have had the privilege of knowing Aniya's family for many years as a close family friend. I am organizing this GoFundMe on their behalf because they are currently facing an incredibly difficult time, and I wanted to help ease some of the financial burden so they can focus on what matters most.

I have seen firsthand the kindness and generosity this family has shown to others over the years. Now they need our support. With their permission, I created this fundraiser to give friends, family, and our community a way to come together and help.

Just weeks ago, Aniya was looking forward to one of the biggest milestones of her life—starting college this fall. After courageously defeating brain cancer at such a young age, she believed the hardest chapter of her life was finally behind her. She overcame unimaginable challenges with strength and determination, and was excited to begin a future she fought so hard to reach.

Then, in an instant, everything changed.

Friday, July 24, 2026, Aniya was involved in a devastating car accident that left her fighting once again.

Her injuries are extensive and life-altering. She has several internal injuries, including a torn diaphragm, a broken femur, and severe nerve damage to her left arm. Out of respect for Aniya's privacy, we will let her family share specific details. She has already endured multiple surgeries and faces a long, painful road to recovery filled with additional procedures, rehabilitation, and countless medical appointments.

For someone who already endured the battle of cancer, this is yet another unimaginable fight. Instead of shopping for dorm room essentials, preparing for classes, and making memories with new friends, she has spent the last week in the intensive care unit working toward the simple goal of healing. As of Aug. 1, Aniya has been moved from the ICU to the surgical trauma floor. Her dream of becoming a nurse like the countless nurses that have cared for her over the last few years is on hold for now.

Despite everything Aniya has faced, her spirit remains incredibly strong. She continues to inspire everyone around her with her resilience and determination to recover. But no one should have to face this journey alone.
