My name is Anissa Danny and I'm raising funds to pay for my top surgery scheduled in January 2027.

I've been out as nonbinary since 2017 and wanted top surgery since I was a high schooler, but for a long time I didn't believe that it could be an option for me. I have a big chest and grew up in Texas, then moved to Florida so physically transitioning was always very gatekept from me. It felt like there were too many logistics and hoops to jump through to pursue.

A year ago, I realized how stupid it was to deny my own feelings and have finally allowed myself to believe top surgery is possible. However, due to my weight and anti-trans regulations in Florida, I got rejected by three different surgeons before I started looking out of state. On my fourth attempt I finally found a surgeon who will give me the procedure, but they're in California and don't take my insurance, so there's a huge cost associated that I have to pay out of pocket.

I'm very lucky to have some support from my parents, as well as a steady full time job, but I know for a fact that I cannot pay the total cost of the surgery on my own. It's almost half of my yearly income. These $10,000 are the costs left over that are too much for me to save for with my current daily expenses.

Please help me get this weight off my chest.
