Hello Friends!
Thank you for visiting my GoFundMe! I'm excited to share with you that I've recently been among 12 businesses accepted into The Center for Creative Economy's accelerator program, Velocity 2022! This program provides creatives with an 10-week deep dive to fortify their business through hands-on mentorship, education and pitch preparedness with an opportunity to receive business funding.
2022 has been all about working toward making my visions and goals a reality. One of my goals and current projects is opening the doors of The Black Aesthetic . Located in High Point, NC, known as "The International Furniture Capitol of The World," TBA will house home decor items designed by Black designers. As a creative incubator, this space will be a home base for black creatives to commune and receive support to develop their businesses further.
With a goal to close a gap in the market and create equity, this space aims to serve as a hub for the Black creative community and recognize the importance of pouring into Black creatives as they continue to preserve, evolve and drive black culture and continue to be global pop culture influencers. TBA aims to protect the fruit of black creativity so that its creators can leverage its value for future generations.
The Velocity program will offer the support I need to ensure that this much need space comes to fruition. I have been awarded a partial scholarship to the Velocity cohort and am raising funds in the amount of $800 to meet the additional expenses, which cover materials.
Thank you in advance for believing in my abilities and supporting my efforts!
With Love,
Anique
