Help Me Study Abroad in São Paulo: Designing for Justice, Culture, and Ecology
Hi, I’m Anika, a landscape architecture student at North Carolina A&T State University with a passion for transforming neglected spaces into vibrant, inclusive environments. I believe design can be a tool for healing, justice, and cultural representation, especially in underserved communities. That’s why I’m fundraising for a Spring 2026 study abroad program in São Paulo, Brazil, a city rich in biodiversity, cultural complexity, and urban innovation.
This opportunity will allow me to explore ecological systems, native plant palettes, and community-driven design in one of the most dynamic landscapes in the world. From urban gardens to favela revitalization projects, São Paulo offers powerful lessons in resilience, equity, and creative placemaking. I’ll be engaging in hands-on learning that connects my coursework, like permaculture zoning, GIS mapping, and historical site planning, to real-world challenges and solutions.
Your support will help cover program fees, travel costs, and living expenses. Every contribution brings me closer to a transformative experience that will expand my design thinking and empower me to serve communities with empathy and intention.
Thank you for believing in the power of design, and in me.
With gratitude,
Anika
