This GoFundMe was created on behalf of Angie — a devoted single mother of four incredible young boys, a pillar of her community, and a co-founder of Our Happy Place Supportive Services, an organization dedicated to supporting neurodiverse adults through meaningful programs and connection.
Angie is the kind of person who shows up. She gives her time, her heart, and her energy to others without hesitation. Whether it’s advocating for inclusive spaces, supporting families, or quietly helping those in need, Angie has always put her community first.
Recently, Angie’s life was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Sigmoid Colon & Rectal Cancer. She is now facing an intense and overwhelming treatment journey that includes aggressive chemotherapy and radiation, followed by a major surgery to remove her large intestine, with the hope of preserving her small intestine. As a result, she will be unable to work for up to a year while she focuses on healing and caring for herself — and her four boys.
As you can imagine, this brings immense financial strain at a time when her focus should be solely on treatment, rest, and recovery. Asking for help does not come easily to Angie. In fact, she is incredibly humble and would never ask for this herself — she is even embarrassed that this fundraiser exists. But those who know and love her know that now is the time to give back to someone who has given so much to others.
This fundraiser is a way for us, as a community, to wrap Angie and her boys in support — to help with everyday living expenses, bills, and the unforeseen costs that come with cancer treatment, so she can focus on what truly matters: getting well.
What your support will help cover
Cancer doesn’t just affect health — it impacts every part of daily life. Funds raised will go toward real, everyday costs such as:
• Medications and prescriptions, including supportive medications not always covered
• Travel expenses to and from appointments (gas, parking, and occasional overnight stays)
• Out-of-pocket medical costs and treatment-related supplies
• Post-surgery recovery needs, including home care items, comfort supplies, and nutrition support
• Lost income and time off work during treatment, hospital stays, and recovery
• Family support costs to help keep life as stable as possible for the boys during this time
If you are able to donate, share, or keep Angie in your thoughts and prayers, it would mean more than words can express. Any amount, big or small, makes a difference.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting Angie through this incredibly challenging chapter.
