Angie Walden had a massive stroke on October 27, 2025. Due to the neglect of the hospital, she is in a wheelchair, and we are getting her therapy at home. Her left side was paralyzed, and we are still believing for perfect function. Family and church are making sure she is cared for. At this point, she isn’t able to do a lot of the things she needs on her own. She laid in Piedmont Hospital for 2 days before even being seen by a doctor, except for a video neurologist who said, 'Mrs. Walden, you had a stroke, get better.' The hospital refused to bathe her, and we as a family had to clean her and even get her on the potty as the hospital was understaffed and couldn’t do it. There was no hot water in her room as well. We had to have someone with her 24/7 due to hospital neglect. After three days, we got angry and asked for higher management, where then a therapist finally came to try and get her moving. If she had received proper treatment, she would be more mobile at this point. When a doctor finally came to the room after 3 days, we told him of the issues, and he stated the hospital had a lot of things going on that if they knew he said it, he would be fired. We spoke about rehab, but after our family confronted the hospital, they sent her home after 5 days. We now have her with home therapy, and she is making progress, but had she received care, we wouldn’t be in this situation. We have tried contacting the Hospital CEO and Board to no avail. We did report to the GA Medical Board.
We have stretched ourselves thin as we have had to pay for vast amounts of things to keep her mobile and taken care of. We thank those who have donated already, helping us. We are not begging, but most know us, and if you would like to donate to help us continue her care for the next few weeks, it would be greatly appreciated. We really, more than anything, desire your prayers. Also, there are people in this hospital who have no one to speak for them, and for that, we are saddened as they are left at the mercy of the hospital. The nurses were great but stated they were so understaffed by nurses and doctors it was hard. We have received no communication from the hospital except for a $55,000.00 bill, in which we are responsible for $25,000.00, not counting doctor bills that are separate. Thanks for any help and prayers. Piedmont Newton Hospital
