Weekly Update (01/20/2024): It has been an incredible start to the year. Angie is currently at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital with the best team to help with speech and mobility. She is starting to walk on her own, have full-on conversations, and regain some memory. It is truly a miracle. We can't thank every one of you enough for the unbelievable support from your donations, keeping her in your prayers, and sharing her story. Thank you.

We come to you with heavy hearts as relatives, friends, and I are here to support Angie Lopez and her family through this very difficult time.

Angie is currently in a medically induced coma after a harrowing accident that happened on November 11th, 2023.

Angie was walking across the street when she was struck by a speeding motorcyclist, causing substantial bruising throughout her body, a broken collarbone, and, most significantly, a severe traumatic brain injury that has left her in critical condition.

That night, she had to undergo an emergency craniectomy to remove a portion from her skull to allow the brain to swell, as the impact of the incident was immense. She is being monitored 24/7 by doctors as this continues to be a very serious matter.

Angie is currently 23 years old. She grew up in the tight-knit community of South Sioux City, where she excelled in academics, played in band, and did cheer. Her love for helping others stems from the unconditional love and support of her mom, dad, and older brother, who have not left her side for a minute since the accident. Angie recently graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, receiving her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. While at UNO, she became a member of the sisterhood of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority Incorporated. Before the accident, Angie planned to apply to Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs this year to pursue her lifelong dream of being a physical therapist to help people regain their strength, mobility and lives after life-altering events.

Her love for laughter and joyful personality is infectious to the many people who have already extended their support to her and her family in this time of need. She is a loving dog mom to Mojo and the best aunt to her niece and nephew. We can all feel her cheerful presence in our hearts, and we need your help for her recovery.

100% of the contributions will be used to help Angie through this long road ahead of physical and emotional recovery. She will continue to be in intensive care at the hospital for an unknown length of time.

Acudimos a ustedes con gran pesar como familiares y amigos, y estoy aquí para apoyar a Angie López y su familia en este momento tan difícil.

Angie se encuentra actualmente en coma inducido médicamente después de un desgarrador accidente que ocurrió el 11 de noviembre de 2023.

Angie estaba cruzando la calle cuando fue atropellada por un motociclista que iba a exceso de velocidad, lo que le provocó importantes hematomas en todo el cuerpo, una fractura de clavícula y, lo más importante, una lesión cerebral traumática grave que la dejó en estado crítico.

Esa noche, tuvo que someterse a una craniectomía de emergencia para extirpar una porción de su cráneo y permitir que el cerebro se hinche, ya que el impacto del incidente fue inmenso. Los médicos la vigilan las 24 horas del día, los 7 días de la semana, ya que este sigue siendo un asunto muy grave.

Angie tiene actualmente 23 años. Creció en la comunidad muy unida de South Sioux City, donde se destacó en lo académico, tocó en la banda y fue animadora. Su amor por ayudar a los demás surge del amor incondicional y el apoyo de su mamá, su papá y su hermano mayor, quienes no se han apartado de su lado ni un minuto desde el accidente. Angie se graduó recientemente de la Universidad de Nebraska-Omaha y recibió su licenciatura en Kinesiología. Mientras estaba en la ONU, se convirtió en miembro de la hermandad de Lambda Theta Nu Sorority Incorporated. Ella es una madre perro cariñosa para Mojo y la mejor tía para su sobrina y su sobrino. Todos podemos sentir su alegre presencia en nuestro corazón y necesitamos tu ayuda para su recuperación.

El 100% de las contribuciones se utilizarán para ayudar a Angie en este largo camino hacia la recuperación física y emocional. Continuará en cuidados intensivos en el hospital por un tiempo desconocido.
