If you all may not know Angie, then let me tell you about her! She has worked for 23 years at the Lookout Mountain Club. Angie's journey at the Club parallels her journey through life, as she raised her 3 children while working here and instilled in them the same love for the mountain and community. Now a grandmother to seven, family remains central to Angie's life, and she cherishes every moment spent with her loved ones. With Angie’s caring soul, she has made a huge impact on many people in her life. The mountain holds a special place in her heart, serving as both a workplace and a home for her and her family.

Angie recently has been diagnosed with Metastatic breast invasive lobular carcinoma, which is a type of breast cancer that has spread to other parts of her body. Currently it has spread to Angie’s lymph nodes under her arm. She also has a mass on her T8 vertebrae. The cancer has reached the point of spreading through her bones, which has caused her chronic pains. Angie has started treatment, and is still undergoing many scans to completely understand what is going on, as well as what can be done to rid the cancer.

 

Angie still maintains a daily commitment to resilience, acknowledging that some days are more trying than others. Angies current physical limitations restrict her mobility. She is grateful for her families help in adapting to these challenges. We all anticipate the day when she can retrospectively appreciate this journey's triumphs. She has expressed that her extensive experience on the mountain has illustrated the profound impact supportive relationships have on personal growth and determination. I write all of this to express how much she is truly loved, as well as try to relieve some of the financial burdens that Angie is facing during this time.
