Hello everyone! Most of you know me, but for those that don’t, my name is Angie Gay, and I’m a mother and grandmother and also a widow. Things have been tough the last ten years but seemed like they were getting better. Then my health took a turn for the worse. I am a type 2 diabetic, and usually, it is well maintained, but a week before Halloween, I got very sick. I had a lot of shortness of breath, chest pain, and high sugar. Long story short, I was hospitalized for three days and diagnosed with pericarditis. On top of that, I have a skin condition called Hidradenitis Suppurativa, which is a painful skin infection that has cysts and boils that open and bleed and can make you very sick.
I am facing yet again another surgery, and this time the doctor says it will be more extensive, and I may require a wound vac. My cardiologist is thinking I may also require surgery on my heart as my pericarditis is not healing as they had hoped. So, obviously, I have had to miss a lot of work unpaid. I have applied for short-term disability but have no way to know when and if I will get the money.
My youngest daughter lives at home with me, and she does work, but right now, she is faced with all the bills. So, I am hoping and praying that by going this route, friends and family, and maybe kind strangers, can help us out until I’m back on my feet. I know it’s a tough time for everyone, so if you can’t donate, please pray for me and my daughter that all things will heal and I will be back to work soon. Thank you for reading my story, and God Bless You all.
