Support Angie Buzzanco's Farm Through Hard Times

Donation protected
My name is Angie Buzzanco, my whole life for the past 74 years I grew up and worked on the farm my grandfather bought in 1900 when he came to America from Italy. He passed the farm on to his son, who was my father, who passed it down to me, and now I am the last farmer of my generation. In the Spring, I raise flowers and vegetable plants for people to plant in their gardens, and in the Fall, vegetable plants that I grow and pick from the field on my land. However, I am sad to report that the farm is having financial hardships.

Since the Covid-19 Pandemic in 2020, inflation has hit essential items I need to keep the farm running. Plant seeds, dirt for the plants, pots for the plants, oil to keep the plants in the greenhouse heated in the cold Winter months, fertilizer, plastic for the greenhouses, gas for the tractors, equipment repairs, etc. I try my best to keep prices reasonable for people so they can have vegetable plants of their own, but unfortunately sales have gone down this year, with a majority of our stock having to be thrown out, and now the Fall season vegetable crops are not looking promising either. The weather has been rough with either many hot days in a row or too much rain for the crops all at once. Recently, I and my employees went down to the field to pick tomatoes only to find all tomatoes have either rotted or are turning bad. Not a single tomato was picked.

With the way things are going, my local farm may have to shut down, and I do not want this to happen. I love what I do, I love talking with the people and bringing them joy with my plants, and most of all, I do not want to lose the land my family has owned for the past 100 years, so I am asking you all for your help.

I am asking for $150,000. This amount will help ensure that I can keep the farm running, be able to pay for the employees, and also afford a new roof for my house on the land where I do a lot of my business for the farm. Please consider helping. No donation is too small. Whatever help you can give will mean the world to me. Thank you.
