Support Angie

One of CLC’s many shining stars, Miss Angie, recently had her life uprooted with a tragic accident.

While Angie and her family recover and adjust to a new life, we are asking if you can help shower them with care and support… Please read more below:

Angie is the type of person that can walk into a room and instantly brighten the mood with her wonderful smile.   On a typical morning as we, parents, drop off our energetic or sleepy little toddlers into Miss Angie's wonderful daycare class, she warmly greets each of us with a joyous, "good morning!”  Her radiant smile immediately calms any morning's trials, tribulations and nerves.  She is always eager and excited to share her creative ideas about the day’s activities to come.  With her beautifully colored dresses, she bustles, almost dancing, about the classroom prepping the class for the day, quickly drops to her knees to give a child a warm and caring hug, giggles and laughs when they say something hilarious, and quickly dashes off to help someone use the potty.   Her energy never stops and her dedication to her students never- ever- ends.   Just to be greeted by Angie in the classroom first thing in the morning is a welcomed sigh of relief.  Angie is a warm and shining light, mother of two beautiful young children, partner to a very loving man and youngest sister of three siblings.

On Saturday September 7, 2019, everything changed.  Angie, her children and her loving partner were involved in a serious roll over car accident.  The vehicle lost control on a gravel road and rolled three times down into a muddy ravine.   Thankfully, her children and partner escaped with only minor injuries.   However, Angie was ejected from the vehicle and her lower right leg was pinned underneath it.  For three hours, Fire Department and EMS personnel worked tirelessly to free her from the vehicle and get her safely to surgical help.  Upon hearing this news, the world felt silent.

Angie was first life flighted to Idaho Falls, but realizing the condition of her leg, she was again life flighted down to Salt Lake City to undergo her surgery.  In Salt Lake City, doctors made the difficult decision to amputate her lower right leg.   Her immediate family was there by her bedside, knowing it is a miracle that she is alive.  Miraculously, she did not sustain any other major injuries.

This luminous young woman and positive spirit has so much more to do on this planet!  Many prayers  have been sent and many tears shed in light of this heart-breaking turn of events.   We are grateful to see this beautiful family together as a whole.  Alive.  Thriving.   Angie will need at least 6-8 weeks of healing before she can begin the process of getting fitted for her first prosthetic.  There will be many prosthetic fittings necessary throughout her life.  As she heals, we can all help support this young family with a donation of any kind.  Financial help, meals, or loving support.  What's happened in the past is behind us.  Now we learn how to move forward in support of Angie and her family.  Thank you for taking the time to read her story.
