After two decades of building his life in the DMV area, Angel was unexpectedly detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during a routine check-in at a Baltimore courthouse in May. He has been held in detention facilities across multiple states for over five weeks, separated from his family and facing deportation to Mexico—a country he has never lived in.
Angel's Story: Two Decades of Hard Work and Dedication
For 20 years, Angel has been a pillar of strength for his family. Originally from Honduras, he was able to remain in the United States legally through a deportation withholding order that allowed him to work and build a life here. His son describes watching his father work two to three jobs just to provide for their family, saying, "I've seen this man work so hard... just to provide for me."
