Don't Let Angels Farm Sanctuary Close!

Angels Farm Sanctuary Turkey, the first and largest farm animal protection, shelter, and rehabilitation center in Turkey, has a history spanning 34 years. It operated in Ankara for 26 years and has been continuing its work in Kemalpasa, Izmir, since 2016. Its founder, Sibel Cakir, has dedicated her life to the welfare of all animal species. The farm primarily houses disabled, elderly, and vulnerable farm animals, pets, exotic animals, and wildlife in need of care.
Thirty-four years ago, founder Sibel Cakir started with five chickens, one rabbit, and two cats. Today, Angels Farm Sanctuary provides shelter to a total of 6,500 animals from 165 different species, including cows, bulls, donkeys, horses, ponies, sheep, rams, goats, mountain goats, camels, buffalo, mules, cats, dogs, various poultry (such as chickens, turkeys, swans, ducks, geese, pigeons, and different exotic bird species), ostriches, rabbits, guinea pigs, rodents, large white pigs, ferrets, koi fish, Japanese fish, disabled seagulls, injured wild animals, and more. The sanctuary serves as a model in Turkey with its comprehensive system of care and protection for these animals.
The sanctuary also has the H.A.R.K. Search and Rescue Team, affiliated with the Haybap Ferdinand Animals and Nature Ahbap Association. This team is registered with AFAD (Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority) and has participated in disaster relief efforts like wildfires and floods. The team has rescued many people and animals during these operations and has taken in over 1,000 rescued animals, bringing them to Angels Farm for treatment and rehabilitation.
All animals living on the farm are victims of violence, with the majority being disabled or elderly. Among the rescued animals is the famous Ferdinand, a bull who escaped slaughter during Eid al-Adha by jumping into the sea in Rize and swimming all the way to Trabzon. Another prominent figure associated with the sanctuary is the well-known artist Haluk Levent. The artist, famous for his humanitarian efforts, and the Ahbap platform are actively involved in supporting the farm.
Angels Farm is a legally recognized organization that transparently shares all donations and financial records. The sanctuary's monthly expenses amount to approximately $32,000.
The reason we opened this aid campaign: The land of the farm was purchased by an animal lover volunteer to be donated to us in the past, but later, due to the economic conditions in Turkey, the people who bought the land changed their minds about donating it to us and asked for 8 million liras as the land price. For this reason, we are currently forced to buy or evacuate the land where 6500 animals live. Without your support, 6500 animals in need of care will be left homeless. Can you please lend a helping hand?
Thank you for your support!
