Over the last six years, my cousin Angel has been facing the difficult challenge of Pulmonary Fibrosis. Angel is now preparing for a possible double lung transplant. This brings lots of hope for the future but also some new challenges. Although he is using his private insurance, the out-of-pocket expenses are tremendous, including relocation to be near the hospital for at least 6 months, treatments, exams, and extensive time he will need to be in the hospital for the transplant process.

Angel never thought he would be in a situation where he would need financial support. He has always been the one to lend a hand whenever needed. He served in the army for 6 years and worked with the government for 22 years. Due to his diagnosis, he had to retire.
