Support Angelo's Fight Against Leukemia

Donation protected

Hello, My name is Marilyn. I’m the wife of Angelo Cristiano. I was hesitant to make a gofundme because We truly don’t like to ask for help. My husband Angelo has been the sole provider for this family for many years. Due to being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia which means many hours of chemotherapy, blood infusions, platelets transfers and more. He is no longer is able to get a job, we do instacart and what we can to maintain. Until now where it is getting harder as the kids go into Summer Vacation. We will have all of the kids with us.

Our story starts November 20, 2023. Angelo had been sick for a few weeks, I was scheduled for a C-section on November 21, 2023. So I told Angelo before we welcome our newest and last blessing to please go to the walk in to rule out covid or anything serious. To both of our surprise it was more serious then we knew. He left the house at 8pm. I tucked the kids in and it was getting close to 10:30 pm and he was still not home. I called him and he told me that he may need surgery as his throat was so closing together they said that there was a cyst that needed to be drained. I reassured to calm down all will be fine. When he told me, they were still running blood work so he would call me back. He called me a short time after saying that the walk in wasn’t equipped with everything they needed so they were going to send him to a hospital in Hudson to be closer to me. Where I was giving birth to do everything. I was scheduled to go to surgery myself at 6:30 am. Needless to say with the already anxiousness of having a baby via csection and now not being able to have my husband with me I couldn’t sleep. Upon arrival to the new hospital they performed a Smear Test. Where it was confirmed that the reason for all the sickness, swollen throat etc was because he had cancer. All news before 6 am. They had to life flight him to TGH where they were the best equipped for the journey we were about to embark on. They had a cancer treatment center and doctors and nurses there that could help him out. I couldn’t do anything else. Blessed to have my brother in law (Angelos brother) I went in for my csection. Welcomed a healthy baby boy! November 21st. November 22nd I begged my doctor to release me from the hospital so I could go see my husband and he can meet our son. Also having 4 babies at home. The doctor agreed as there were no complications. I went home and the next day we got to see papa. He would start his first round of chemo. 7, 3, go on November 24th. This was the beginning of a lot of breaking down on both parts. What felt like an eternity a month longs stay with many challenges , from c diff to blown ivs to so much more. My husband surprised us December 21st with being able to be home just in time for christmas. The last 5 months we have managed to pay rent and bills, expenses. Thanks to close friends and family. It’s just gas to go to the hospital 4 times or more a week trips and more is becoming overwhelming . So now I’m asking for help. We also need to look for a new home because we currently live on the second floor and it gets hard on Angelo. Anything helps. Any questions will be answered. I will also give update. We appreciate everything. Trying to not face homelessness with our current situation. Everyone who has helped in the past we are forever grateful! Thank you for all you donate to our family.

May 30th: Despite all the challenges and the long days and longer nights Angelo still takes his role as father, husband, uncle, brother and son to heart! He is such an amazing man. Every dollar goes to help lessen the burden of bills, and helping the family with diapers etc. While mom starts to venture the work field. We appreciate it all!
