Hi, I’m Dia!
I started my lingerie brand 4 years ago because I loved the idea of creating something thoughtful and personal for women, and I was excited by the creative side of building a brand from the ground up. What I didn’t fully realize at the time was how difficult it is for small businesses to grow without the infrastructure that larger companies have — things like marketing budgets, logistics networks, and constant customer visibility. Even with a strong product and loyal customers, I found that convenience often wins. Due to unfortunate circumstances, SKIVVI shut down last year.
People want to support small businesses, but the systems around shopping today are built to favor larger platforms. That experience stayed with me. It made me realize that many small brands and boutiques face the same challenge, and that’s what ultimately inspired Angelocal. I wanted to create a platform that helps level the playing field by giving independent retailers access to the kind of infrastructure that makes shopping small as easy as shopping anywhere else.
Small businesses are the heart of New York City. They bring character, creativity, and connection to our neighborhoods, but they’re up against huge challenges. Without the resources of big companies, it’s tough for them to reach new customers or offer the convenience people have come to expect. Angelocal is my answer to that problem: a platform designed to help customers shop from small, independent boutiques in NYC with same-day delivery. By making it easier for people to shop small, we can help these businesses thrive and keep our communities vibrant.
With your support, I’ll be able to build and test a beta version of Angelocal with a group of founding boutiques. The funds will go toward developing the platform, testing delivery logistics, and onboarding local retailers. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps bring this idea to life and supports the small businesses that make our city special. Thank you for believing in this vision and for helping strengthen our community.
With endless gratitude,
Dia
