Help Me Continue My Education and Begin My College Journey

Hello everyone,

My name is Angelita Cadiz, and I am a recent high school graduate and a proud young transgender woman preparing to take the next step in my educational journey by attending SUNY Oneonta.

Graduating from high school is one of my greatest accomplishments, but it has come during one of the most difficult periods of my life. Recently, I lost my mother after she suffered from a severe infection that ultimately led to the amputation of her leg and, tragically, the loss of her life.

My mother was my biggest source of love, support, encouragement, and strength. She was my backbone throughout my academic journey and always believed in my dreams of pursuing a college education in theater and the arts. Her faith in me helped me stay focused on my goals, and I am determined to continue moving forward and honor her memory by achieving the dreams we shared.

Since her passing, my grandmother has become my guardian. She has been doing everything she can to support and encourage me as I prepare for this new chapter in my life, and I am deeply grateful for her love and guidance.

As I get ready to start college, I am facing significant financial challenges, particularly with the costs associated with living on campus. Expenses such as bedding, storage supplies, toiletries, school necessities, and other dorm essentials add up quickly and can be overwhelming, especially without the support system I once had.

I am humbly asking for any assistance that can help me make this transition into college life. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping me obtain the necessities I need to live on campus and focus on my education and future.
