A blockage in the sewer line caused an upstairs bathroom to overflow while Angelica’s family wasn’t at home over the holidays. Because it happened overnight, the sewer water backed up continuously and ran into adjacent bedrooms, through the vents, and through the ceiling into the living room and kitchen.
Because the sewer water is considered contaminated, everything affected must be discarded. She is insured and is currently waiting for the adjuster to come, but although repairs and major items will likely eventually be covered, all of Brielle and William’s toys, stuffies, etc., may not be.
She and the kids will be displaced while the restoration company works. As a single mom, Angelica will be responsible for juggling all the moving pieces of sudden changes in routine, as well as for the mental energy required to replace the lost items and coordinate things.
The nature of real estate makes one’s work very connected to one’s life, and many at our brokerage can attest that when things get difficult at home, work becomes difficult as well. I want to surround Angelica with support during this time, knowing how many have relied on her support, perhaps none more than me.
Angelica has never been one to dwell on her challenges, always focusing on the solution. However, I would love for us to make resolving the effects of the flood just a little bit easier for her and her kids.
