Dear friends and family,
In June 2025, Angela was diagnosed with triple positive cancer of the left breast. The tubular and ductal carcinoma required a double mastectomy and reconstruction. After the surgery, the pathology report confirmed that the cancer was also in her right breast and had metastasized to her lymph nodes. All of this meant that the cancer was aggressive and would require many months of various treatments.
She is mother to two children — Jada (19) and Mariah (26) who is expecting Angela’s first grandchild in January. She is also an animal lover and the proud mom to (2) furbabies — Jackson and Serafina. They all need her to be healthy.
Since the diagnosis, she has been courageously fighting the cancer with chemotherapy, targeted therapy and hormonal therapy. Recently she learned that what she thought was going to require four rounds of chemotherapy, would have to continue. Of course this was upsetting for Angela, but just as she did with the first four rounds, she will continue to fight.
This has been a long and painful journey for Angela. The treatments have taken a heavy toll on her body: nausea, fatigue, neuropathy and side effects that make even simple daily tasks difficult. She has a constant schedule of doctor’s visits, infusions, therapies, and follow-ups. All this while continuing to work on the few days in between that she feels just a little bit stronger. It is just not enough to make ends meet.
Several months ago, her many friends and softball teammates held a benefit game and sold tee shirts to help with her finances. Thankfully, these funds and her part-time wages have carried her through November. Unfortunately, the money earned from the benefit has now run out. Angela is a one-income household and is continuing to work when she can. While she does collect some income from CT FMLA, it is not enough to cover her needs
Angela has been working with my autistic son; Tyler, for nearly three years both at school and at home. She has truly been a blessing to Tyler and our family. Of all the people that have come and gone in his life (there have been a lot), Angela has stayed. He still gets to see her but for Tyler, routine is everything. On the days when she is not able to work, he misses her. He needs Angela, and honestly, I think she needs him too.
We are hoping to raise $5,000 to help support Angela so she can focus on what matters most: her health. She should not have to worry about finances while going through what is without a doubt the hardest time of her life. Insurance helps, but it comes with a yearly $3,000 deductible for 2025, and will again for 2026. Lost wages and minimal help from FMLA are just not enough.
Current expenses include rent, car payment, car insurance, utilities and daily living expenses, as well as medical insurance premiums, deductibles, and co-pays.
Every donation will go directly towards her medical treatments and living expenses.
If you are able to contribute, no matter how big or small, your support will make a real difference. If you are unable to give, please share this campaign link with your network, and offer some words of encouragement.
Let’s help Angela continue to courageously fight this cancer!
