Hello! I’m Angela, I own Flora Bodega in the Paseo Arts District in OKC. Our local food grocery store has been operating for 5.5 years in a brick-n-mortar location. Flora was a dream that started in 2007, when I knew I needed to build the skills to provide food to my community and more specific to my neighborhood. By 2010 I quit my Architectural Drafting job to fully dive into the specialty food & restaurant industries.

I still love the work that I do, and we just acquired a space right next to us, five months ago, to expand into more: art, events & classes. Ending the year also came with another opportunity ~ the other side of Flora also became available. I had told myself that the next time that space was open that I would say “YES”. Funny timing, I also just started to find investors for us without knowing all this was going to happen so rapidly.

I have put money in to lockdown the location via buyout & rent, while I wait for the investment to hit I would like to get officially rolling more. There’s a lot I’ve started on that does not require money but my time & equity, but the holdup of other tasks need a little funds soon.
