Hi everyone,
I’m writing this on behalf of my best friend, Angela Barker, someone who means the world to me and so many others.
Back story:
Angela Barker is 30 years old. She has been my childhood best friend since the age of seven and has been living in Maine for the past 6 years and working as a childcare specialist which I believe is her calling. She absolutely loves kids and cares for each and everyone of her students as if they were her own. Currently she got let go from her child care job due to doctors notes. I know Angela has always struggled with having a child of her own and which is even more so why she spends all hours of her days to surround herself with children even after work hours are done. Angela truly is one of the most kind hearted, gentle and caring souls. She has frozen her eggs due to the form of cancer and that took a lot of hard looking into. If I could put into perspective how she is as a person she would give the clothes off her back to a complete stranger. I truly believe that God chooses the hardest battles for the strongest soldiers and even with this devastating Diagnosis I know she will make it.
What happened:
On Monday January 5th 2026 my best friend Angela was on her way to babysit one of her students up in Maine when up on arrival to the child's resident the parents of the child was by the grace of god still in the home when Angela dropped to the floor and began seizing where luckily she was able to be transported to the hospital. While at the hospital they went ahead and did an MRI in which they found a small tumor in the brain and prepared her for surgery 4 days after her seizure. On Friday January 9th Angela was then scheduled for surgery on her frontal lobe where the tumor was found and where they were only able to remove most of the tumor not all because if they take too much it can affect her speech and memory and walking. Her tumor was then sent out to get tested where Angela has been struck with bad news and diagnosed with stage 4 Astrocytoma (IDH) glioblastoma, an aggressive and life-changing form of brain cancer. Since the diagnosis, life has been turned upside down—emotionally, physically, and financially. What should be a time focused on treatment, rest, and hope has instead become filled with anxiety on medical bills, travel to appointments, medications, and unexpected daily expenses.
Angela continues to show incredible strength, courage, and heart. Anyone who knows her knows how selfless, kind, and loving she is. She now needs that same love and support from all of us. If you can spare anything, anything at all even if just prayers please consider helping Angela make it through this.
The funds raised will go directly toward:
Medical bills and treatments she is now un medically insured due to the form of doctors note that got her let go from her child daycare career
No donation is too small. If you’re unable to give, sharing this page means just as much. Every act of kindness helps lift some of the weight off Angela
