Help Support Angela Wood and Baby Arya Dove

Angela’s story is one of incredible strength, love, and determination. At 40 years old, she welcomed her miracle baby, Arya Dove, into the world on May 26, 2026. Since birth, Arya has faced significant medical challenges, but she continues to show everyone around her just how strong she is.

Arya was born with Arthrogryposis, a condition that causes multiple joint contractures and limits movement in the limbs. In her case, her arms, hands, legs, and feet are affected. Because her muscles did not develop and move normally before birth, and there may also be nerve involvement, she has very limited movement in some of her limbs. She will require ongoing medical care, therapies, and likely multiple procedures throughout her life.

Arya also has clubfeet, a club leg, and clubbed hands. One of her legs is severely affected and bends in the wrong direction, making surgery necessary. She is expected to need extensive physical and occupational therapy throughout much of her childhood to help her gain as much mobility and independence as possible.

In addition to these challenges, Arya is currently unable to take nutrition by mouth and relies on a feeding tube. Doctors are also evaluating her for a possible cleft palate. Her medical journey is just beginning, and there will be many appointments, therapies, specialists, and procedures ahead.

As if caring for a medically complex newborn wasn’t enough, Angela has also faced tremendous personal hardships. After learning she was pregnant, she lost her home and has only been able to work part-time. Her vehicle is in need of repairs, and reliable transportation is essential as Arya’s medical needs continue to grow.

Right now, Angela is staying at the Ronald McDonald House so she can remain close to Arya while she is hospitalized. While this support has been a blessing, the emotional, physical, and financial strain has been overwhelming. Despite everything she is facing, Angela remains by Arya’s side every day, advocating for her daughter and making sure she receives the best care possible.

We are asking for help to ease some of the burden on this family. Donations will go toward medical expenses, transportation costs, vehicle repairs, housing needs, therapy expenses, and the many unexpected costs that come with caring for a child with complex medical needs.
